John Cooper and his family have taken on a tavern in 18th-century NC during the Revolutionary War. From 1780 - 1788, the children became adults as the town's legal systems, churches, and schools changed. Slavery and women's status are addressed amid the real history and heroes of Burke County.

Aurora has traveled through time all her life, but she hopes to train her grandchildren to be safe if those trips happen to them. She and her grandson, Ody, visit NC's old Salem. Drake, the next oldest, joins them in Bath to meet Blackbeard. Hopefully, one more trip will solve the problem.

Spring Graviston hopes for a fresh start when she is offered a position on Mar's WayPoint Station. There, she makes friends and considers romance, but dark forces lurk. Is the being claiming to be an alien a worse threat than power-hungry humans? Life on Earth may depend on that answer.
